Embody Your Light

That's 27 years btw

So, my birthday was a few days ago. I took some time and meditated on what these days have thought me. I lay them here with you. I grew a lot, but it still doesn't feel like I did. FIA managed to sum up pretty well my intention for my 27 and onwards. You can listen to the whole song here.

I’ve got another page on my book
And I will use it well, I will use it well
Cause when I go
I want to know
That I left it all on the table
That I gave it all I got
I wanna be remembered as Love
Leaving behind
A legacy of Light

1. Chill nights in are really better than going out. Sleep is important — make sure you always get enough

2. Find a physical activity that brings you joy, 15–20 minutes a day is enough. Even if it’s just walking, or jumping.

3. Breakfast is the best part of the day. Yogurt is awesome for your microbiome, eat it daily.

4. Travel alone. Take yourself to breakfast dates. Eat dinner alone at a fancy restaurant.

5. Mental health before everything. It’s okay to stop seeing your family if they are toxic to you.

6. Yes, we all hated our parents at one point in our lives — that’s okay, you’re not broken

7. Being mean with mean people is protection, not lack of respect. It’s okay to say no. And give no reason for it.

8. There are no bad people, only people with a dysregulated nervous system. Go to therapy.

9. Moving out is the best thing you can do for yourself — go as far as possible.

10. Have a psychedelic trip. Experiment with safe drugs along safe people.

11. It’s okay to not know what to do with your life before 30, or after 30 — there’s no timeline

12. Use your 20s to explore, you still have at least 60 years of life ahead. There’s time.

13. You’re no less for living with your parents after 25 (as long as you have a plan)

14. See an old person begging? Get to know their story, you might be surprised

15. When you feel down, depressed, sad, anxious, confused, you name it, you deserve more love, not less

16. Compassion is something you give yourself first and it doesn’t make you slack, perfectionism does

17. Read every day. Play with a pet. Smell the flowers. Dance butt naked on your favorite song. Wiggle.

18. You can’t change/save your family. It’s not your job.

19. Shame lives in secrecy. Find someone you trust and tell them everything you feel ashamed about. If they start telling you ‘it’s stupid, it’s not even that bad, etc’ — stop telling them anything.

20. It’s okay to start over again — as many times as you need. Better than wishful thinking.

21. Talk to your grandparents, sometimes they’ll get you better than your parents.

22. It’s okay if it’s harder to make friends when you grow up, life’s different. Don’t be hard on yourself.

23. How you start your day really sets the tone for the day, take your time to enjoy your rituals.

24. Pay attention to who you share your story with, not everyone is ready for it or worthy to hear it.

25. Listen to your body, you know best what you need. Shake your body whenever you feel angry or sad for no reason. Animals do this all the time.

26. If you’re a girl, stop using synthetic pads — find something organic

27. Wear sunscreen. Moisturize. You can never have too much vitamin D or magnesium.
